1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how [Company Legal Name] ("Arni", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Arni iOS app and related services (the "Service"). Arni is a multi-sport AI coaching app for iOS.

2. Information We Collect

• Apple HealthKit data. With your permission, we read workout data from Apple Health to auto-track sessions you record with your Apple Watch or iPhone — running, cycling, swimming, and rowing workouts, including type, duration, distance, pace, and, where available, heart rate and energy burned.
• Manually logged workouts. Gym and strength sessions you enter in Arni, which we write back to Apple Health (see Section 3).
• Account information. Your name and email address, provided via Sign in with Apple (see Section 5).
• Coaching conversations. Chat messages you send to Arni and the training context needed to answer them.
• Push notification data. A device token and related identifiers, handled by OneSignal, so we can send you reminders and coaching notifications (see Section 6).

We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

3. Apple HealthKit Data

• Read-only for auto-tracked workouts. We request HealthKit access to read the workouts you track — running, cycling, swimming, and rowing — so they appear in Arni automatically. We never modify or delete HealthKit workouts you recorded yourself.
• Writing gym sessions back. When you manually log a gym or strength session in Arni, we write that session to Apple Health so your overall training log stays complete.
• Never used for advertising or sold. HealthKit data is used solely to provide your coaching. We never use it for advertising, we never sell it, and we never share it with data brokers or advertising networks.
• AI coaching only. The only third party that may process HealthKit-derived information is OpenAI, strictly to generate your coaching responses, as described in Section 4.
• Your control. You can revoke HealthKit access at any time in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Arni. Arni continues to work with manual logging.

4. AI Processing (OpenAI)

When you chat with your coach, your messages — together with the training context needed to answer them (recent workouts, planned sessions, and readiness, which may include HealthKit-derived data) — are sent through our backend to OpenAI's API (model gpt-5-nano) to generate Arni's coaching responses.

• We send only the information necessary to produce a useful coaching answer.
• Your conversations are not used for advertising and are not sold.
• OpenAI processes this data as a processor on our behalf, subject to OpenAI's own data-use policies. You can review them at openai.com/policies.
• We do not send your HealthKit data to any other third party.

5. Sign in with Apple

Arni uses Sign in with Apple as its account system. We receive your name and email address from Apple to create your account. If you choose Hide My Email, we only see the private relay address Apple generates for you. We never see your Apple ID password, and we use this information solely for authentication and account management.

6. Push Notifications (OneSignal)

We use OneSignal to deliver push notifications such as workout reminders and coaching nudges. OneSignal processes your device token and basic device information to deliver notifications. You can disable notifications in iOS Settings or in the app at any time. OneSignal's own privacy practices are described at onesignal.com/privacy-policy.

7. Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Profile → Settings → Delete Account). Deleting your account permanently removes your account and personal data — including your profile, logged workouts, and chat history — from our servers. Removal from encrypted backups may take up to 30 days.

Health data remains under your control in Apple Health: revoke Arni's access in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices, and delete any gym sessions Arni wrote to HealthKit directly in the Health app if you wish.

8. What We Don't Do

• We do not sell your personal data. Ever.
• We do not use HealthKit or workout data for advertising.
• We do not share your data with data brokers.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.

9. Data Retention and Security

We keep your data only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, your data is removed as described in Section 7. We protect data in transit and at rest using industry-standard encryption and access controls.

10. International Transfers

Our Service and our providers (including OpenAI and OneSignal) may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

11. Children's Privacy

Arni is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes within the app or by other reasonable means. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version.
